OBLIQUE TRAINING WITH THE PARABELL

This relatively advanced exercise is a very good way of creating length potential in the oblique muscles of the core, and also how to use this length potential in an explosive manner. It is also very effective in training fast twitch rotations. We are going to use a bilateral stance and the base movements will be the backhand swing and the pendulum squat.

When the Parabell is moving back, we will go down into the squat position, following the movement of the shoulder extension. We don´t need to go too deep into the squat position, so once we reach somewhere around here, we will stop the hip flexion, but we will continue the movement of our shoulder into hyperextension.

Now, we have to wait until the Parabell stops its momentum and starts moving forward, so when we raise from the squat position, we can add more momentum in the same direction.
